With almost 116 years of service to south-central Kansas, The Citizens State Bank has maintained family ownership since its beginning. Organized in Moundridge and chartered by the state of Kansas on August 1, 1904, the bank now includes locations in McPherson, Harvey and Marion counties. The Citizens State Bank has acquired several institutions over the years, including Wheatland Bank of Goessel, on March 10, 1994; Farmers State Bank and Trust Company, Canton, on Sept. 8, 1995; and The Hesston State Bank on March 7, 1998. On July 1, 2013, it acquired Home State Bank with multiple locations in McPherson. On July 1, 2018, Randy Tegethoff was named bank president, after serving nine years as the bank’s Chief Financial Officer. Under his leadership, the bank continues to expand its reach through online and face-to-face interaction. With a current asset base in excess of $475 million and carrying an exemplary designation The Citizens State bank boasts a diverse portfolio of lending in agriculture, commercial, home and personal.
